The plow was over zealous.

  1. We had one like that too. It's amazing! I think the plows aim for them!

  4. Poor you and the mailman although maybe he has a truck. Very original idea for the theme.

  5. They don't make it easy for you to get your mail do they? or for the mailman either. That is a great shot though and perfect for the narrow theme. On another topic, I've been enjoying your amazing shot of the birds all winter. You are a very gifted photographer. I hope you have a great weekend.

  6. How I'll be posting about snow too for narrow.

  7. I think I like the snow more than the mailbox cause it's so hot here in Malaysia. How I wish there are times when I can feel the snow in Malaysia. But, it's impossible! :~

  8. I'm thinking of the mailman getting to those mailboxes every snowy winter. *Gulpz* Given the hot weather in Singapore currently, I wanna jump flat on my face into the snow :P

  9. Just look at all of that snow!! Here in the south of the UK we've had temperatures of about zero centigrade and a couple of flurries of snow which haven't settled and think we're hard done by. However the people in the north have had gales, snow and storms so I think we're very lucky.

    Have a good weekend, Andree.

  10. I agree!!! The plows totally help with the roads, not with the mail or for getting the car out of the driveway!!!!

Happy weekend! I hope you got to your mail at the post office!

  14. Gosh...this is real bad. I can imagine now how hard it is to deliver mails now with such thick snow around. that's the reasons I rather use emails :P

P/s: Be in for a surprise for this weekend and COT...:P If you have the time, do check out my another interpretation at http://www2.crizlai.com/2008/02/02/photo-hunters-narrow/

  19. Great take on this week's theme. We just don't get snow like that here in London.. Happy weekend

  20. Great entry. I can't imagine how cold it must be there. It would certainly be tough for the mailman to carry out his duties.

    Thanks for visiting.

  21. Heard from a friend of mine who also lives in Vermont that you guys have had quite the winter this year. It's pretty cold by Hong Kong standards right now too -- but still not cold enough to get any snow though! ;b

  22. That really is one gorgeous photo! Cold looking to the point that it made me shiver....but still, beautiful.

    Thanks for the visit.

  26. Hello Andree
What a beautiful landscape! And this year I don't travel to the mountain to see the snow! Lucky you are but with warm clothes of course!

  27. My apologies, Andree, I have been here and was the first to put my name in the Mr. Linky box but my student came and had to work till 5pm. I just finished my dinner so here I am...

I love the photo of your mailbox. So why does it gets narrower? Maybe because a lot of private companies have been delivering packages unlike a few years ago? Or maybe people are no longer sending snail mail, except for bills.

It is so cold in Vermont! Have a great weekend and take care :)

  29. Our mailbox is on the edge of a major highway and has gotten plowed a few times before. Could be worse--at least they were plowing. :)

  30. Oh my gosh, look at that! Poor mailbox. Now he will not get fed any mail for a while.

  31. poor mailbox looks like it received a right hook! at least its "ear" wasn't bitten off haha

  32. When I used to deliver newspapers in the rural area I would come across some like that from time to time. It was not theplaw, it was teenagers. Ours just has a bullet hole in it from the previous owner.

  33. Oh, dear! I can honestly say that this is a very unlikely scenario here in the sunshine state! Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. You might enjoy a "narrow" story I tell in my post today that involves my cats. Blessings, dear friend.

  35. I've seen times when ours didn't even escape narrowly- it got knocked clean off the post and the post broken as well...I swear they aim for them...
    Clever take on the theme!

  36. Oops! Sorry to hear you have to go into town to get your mail now. Great choice for narrow, though.

  37. Great thought for the narrow theme. My neighbor's mailbox faced the same fate too.

I love to look at the snow but I don't enjoy the shovel.

    Mine is up too.

  51. lol maybe if we had mailboxes for the plows to aim for our roads would get plowed more often? We always have to go to town for our mail. Not fun in this frigid cold.
