Orange Bees and Orange Flower

I think these are Ligated furrow bees

I so enjoy getting two or more animals interacting in one photo. Especially when it is focused! These bees were collecting pollen to take back to the nest to feed their larvae. It's very pleasurable to see bees again, even here, when it is all grey and brown outside.

A Bee and a Spider

I began taking video outside this morning. Many. But this one had a bit of drama in it that I never saw outside. I hope you can see it well here. It is a furrow bee and a flower crab spider. You really should view full screen. There is no audio.

Three orders of insects in one shot is my Photo Sunday submission for Macro. This is one of my favorite photos from last season (2021).

Clockwise from top left:

A bee, Ligated Furrow Bee (Halictus ligatus); a flower fly, Black-horned Smoothtail (Epistrophe grossulariae); and a true bug, Tarnished Plant Bug ( Lygus lineolaris).
