Red-Tailed Hawk
There was quite a commotion this morning (immediately after I had finished my rosy maple moth photos) among the nesting redwing blackbirds in the beaver meadows when this red-tailed hawk appeared. Several blackbirds attacked it and followed it back up Barton Mountain. Episodes such as this happen frequently, sometimes daily. The hawks live on the cliffs of the mountain.
