A Day at Home

Lucy in the sunshine.

So we were home sick today.
Everyone else is happy about that except me.

The toys I ordered from Chewy came today. Nelly and Betsy both enjoyed the whatchamacallit pretty-green-toy-with-little-balls-in-it. They both looked at but ignored the new tent. In my aloneness-boredom, I ordered the cats a huge cat tree that I cannot possibly assemble myself. I hope it comes this weekend.

The boredom was awful. I missed the kids. The cats slept almost all day. I missed the excitement of school on the last day before a holiday. At least last night was pleasant.

Sweet Betsy

Betsy's almost asleep.

Betsy now comes to bed every night. She bathes and then goes to sleep purring, making sure that I am fingers-distance from her neck for scritches. If I stop, she pushes her neck into my fingers again. Lucy has done the same with my other hand every night for years. I'm pretty busy at bedtime.

All day I tried to upload videos of the cats playing with their new toys, but Google seemed to choke on all of them, long and short. It's probably just as well. They are videos only a mother can love.

The girls are more inspecting each other than their new toy.

I never made the cranberries today as I should have. Or started the dinner rolls as I should have. I'm off to try and be productive; at least for tonight.
