Thankful Thursday: Goofy Bumble Bees

This is the time of year when the jewelweed blooms and the bumbles crawl into a blossom and hang there while they gather nectar and pollen.

I always chuckle when I see them through my lens.
All you see are two fuzzy, pollen-studded legs hanging out.
I'm thankful to be able to see and enjoy this.

Any day now, the hummingbirds will come through on their migration and stop for the jewelweed and phlox, also.

  4. Our jewelweed is blooming, too. Our hummingbirds are increasing their feeding in our yard (both a hummingbird feeder and flowers) and I think they are doing their pre migration feeding to gain weight. They should be gone from our area of New York within the next two weeks.

  6. Fantastic bee photos, that's something I've neve been able to photograph as they move so fast, I've never seen a real life humming bird in real life, but I don't think we get them in the UK xxx

  11. I love bees! They are such precious beings in our world. Now wasps, I could live happily without them. They are evil. Bees & hummingbirds are enjoyable to watch. Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos.
