Ten People Who Came Back To Life
After Their Certain Death on the CBS Soaps
That I Have Taped and Watched

After Work for Twenty Years
- Taylor Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS). She was thought to be dead, and was actually buried, but a long-lost love dug her up after the graveside service and revived her. He released her years later after her children had grown up.
- Felicia Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS) from end-stage liver cancer. She died, was whisked off to a clinic for the rich and famous and brought back to life.
- Sheila Carter on The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS): at least once. She may be dead now; but she may be Phyllis.
- Macy Alexander on The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS). She has since died again; this time apparently she will stay dead. Only the good stay dead.
- Paul Ryan on As the World Turns (CBS). He has died twice. Come back twice. It's getting tiring. I am considering offing him myself.
- Simon Frasier on As the World Turns (CBS) (Katie's first husband) on As the World Turns (CBS).
- James Stenbeck on As the World Turns (CBS): the resident evil-doer.
- Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless (CBS): he fell into a raging river in a jeep when a bridge collapsed in Africa. He revived three years later.
- Nick Newman on The Young and the Restless (CBS): the only known person to survive a 20,000 foot descent into Lake Michigan. Thought dead, the family held a funeral, but Nick showed up in the woods a month or three months or a year later. He doesn't remember the evil things he did before his death.
- Roger Thorpe of Days of Our Lives (CBS): the King of Reincarnation (he has died three times and come back to life twice). I have dropped this soap. Two and a half hours of soaps (one and a half hours without commercials) a day are enough for one woman.
Can you think of any other reincarnations on these CBS soaps?
(In my defence, my soap habit began while nursing babies thirty years ago, sometimes two at a time. For hours and hours and hours and hours. Oh, you know what it's like!)

Miss a day? You can now watch full episodes
of all CBS soaps, except B&B, online at CBS Daytime.

What a unique and cool list! I also love your photos on your left sidebar.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny the things people survive in soaps.
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
My mom got hooked on soaps over 30 years ago when my brother and I were babies... Hers were All My Children and Another World - I grew up watching them too but haven't watched any since. I got hooked on game show reruns when my older girls were babies though! :)
ReplyDeleteI used to watch Days of Our Lives but now our household of four young children, I am reduced to watching the Wiggles and Sesame Street...
ReplyDeleteI can see how one could get hooked. Happy H/T :P
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique list. I see you have a sick addiction to soaps. lol, I never got into them, but only because I know I'd be addicted.
ReplyDeleteI used to watch As The World turns starting with when I was home alone with my first and needed some adult voices. James Stenbeck must have 100 lives!!!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we dont get CBS over here. looks like most of these must have ran for years together, so many incarnations :)
ReplyDeleteI used to watch soaps years ago. It's interesting how things turn out in them. A good list.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Bravo for admitting you watch soaps. I have only one & hear that Drusilla Winters may come back. We all know that if there's no body, they're likely to come back...even if they look quite different.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday! :)
Fantastic idea for the theme!
ReplyDeleteI used to be hooked on Days Of Our Lives and General Hospital!
the only soaps I watch are Days and GH
ReplyDeleteThis is where I admit that I watch all these soaps, too. I remember all these.
ReplyDeletePaul Ryan was much cuter before he died. I never can figure out why they bring a character back from the dead when they don't even have the 'real' actor to play him.
Oh, don't forget Jack Snyder on ATWT - when they thought he was dead, but that other evil woman Julia found him and married him and fought to keep him from Carly, even after she found out who he was and knew he was already married.
I think Ridge on B&B was thought to be dead for a while, too - and that's when Brooke and Nick got together.
Roger Thorpe was on Guiding Light, I'm pretty sure.
There was a time in my life when I watched a soap...then I didn't watch them for years and when I did I couldn't believe how old they had gotten and now the young ones look like babies....I never watched Bold and Beautiful....I think it was the Young and the Restless I watched...see it was that long ago I can't remember....great list...
ReplyDeleteYes! A true CBS daytime fan! Sometimes I feel alone. Most people I know don't watch this channel. I have been watching the CBS lineup since I was a little girl with my grandmother...and now again as a stay-at-home mom. Love it.
ReplyDeleteI used to watch Days of Our Lives but after missing several episodes I lost interest. I don't watch TV that much anymore. I'd rather spend my free time on the computer. :)
ReplyDeleteSo original and too funny! I was a Guiding Light addict in high school and college, and I was amazed at Roger Thorpe's resiliency to always return from the grave. And as ruthless as he was, you had to love him!
ReplyDeleteNot a soapie now. I was into All My Children for a while but lost track of it. It's funny how many soaps use reincarnation when they need to bring back a character. Oh No! Did I let the cat out of the bag?
ReplyDeleteI love that: "I am considering offing him myself." *giggles*
ReplyDeleteYes, it's amazing what they can do in soaps.
Oh, I know how it is, but because of back problems. When I was as worsts I couldn't move at all and TV was the only thing. But sometimes I even choosed the commercials before some soap because it was too bad... It has gone real far when one choose the commercials.... *giggles*
What a great list!! I remembered several of these. I also love CBS soaps, although being a teacher I only get to watch them (catch up) during our breaks. Thanks for bringing back memories! LOL
