Winter Supper 2

The outside temps reached 8°F on Saturday (-13°C). I got groceries, ran errands, fixed a couple of things around the house and cooked the pineapple upside down cake (recipe from The Joy of Cooking) and the cornbread. Amy made the chili with ground turkey (Matt won't eat beef or pork). The snow and cold are making me pretty domestic!

    And today I made winter soup. It's simmering now, I'm getting ready for that first parsnippy sharp bowl.

    I haven't had pineapple upside down cake since I was a kid. Mum used to make and my brothers and I all loved it. We'd be absolutely drooling while it was baking.

    Wow, that's a memory you brought back for me.
