Sugar on Snow Supper

Amelia, me and two of her friends went to the Sugar on Snow Supper tonight at the Orleans Federated Church. There were plates of ham, potato salad, beans, cole slaw and rolls on each table. Then we were given our own bowl of snow, warm pitchers of maple syrup, pickles, and plates of plain baked doughnuts. We are stuffed! It is too cold outside tonight to do anything except watch movies. We hope you are warm as we sit beneath dogs, cats, and blankets while we watch Ratatouille.

  1. Those are raised doughnuts? I thought you guys only ate the cake-y ones.

Anyhow, I can't take my eyes off that yellowy snow...

  2. I have the advantage of a twenty-four-hour donut store (Tim Horton's) within walking distance, and tonight they made some Boston Cremes for me while I waited. WOW! so donuts and I know each other well, and I love pickles with my hamburgers, but pickles with donuts and maple-syrup snow? I must say, that combination needs some explanation!

  4. Pickles? And snow? Does the syrup turn into candy on the snow? But where do the pickles come in? I've never heard of such a thing!! :)
