Cats Tuesday: Buddy's New Prey

I caught Buddy on top of the TV trying to "kill" my little yellow duckie that I got a few years ago at the Mother Daughter Potluck at church. The cats are only going out for a few hours at a time now and stay in every single night. Their normal wild prey is gone, so they are reduced to killing toys in the house.

Gattina is in Egypt this week and next, so I am proudly hosting Cats on Tuesday. My apologies for not visiting all of you last week. I simply didn't have the energy because of this awful cold I caught. I have recovered and am back! Please enter your link and visit all the COT participants below. Have a great week!

HALP! Holy Cat photos are needed for my weekly cat blogging post: LOLCat Bible Sunday Lectionary Readings. If your cat is without sin, has a visible halo or any other mark of holiness or worthines, please send me her/his photo as soon as possible.

  1. Oh, this is funny. The photo looks like Luzie is there playing with the toy.
Our cats are also this time over night in the house. But yesterday Luna brought us a living mouse into the house. We have to surch the mouse, after a while I found it and brought it in the garden. Hope the small mouse has survived.
    Have a nice Tuesday =´`.´`=

  2. I love this picture! It shows that the hunting instinct is going to be there, inside the house or out. The mice that come into my house only go under the dishwasher and in the cupboards I keep closed under the sink. Still, Silver spends hours sometimes poised on his haunches in front of the dishwasher, hoping the mouse he hears (and that I can't) will come out of hiding. ;-)

  3. Face it: the ducky's had it! How do they like catnip toys? Au is bored silly by them but they keep the fuzzies next door amused.

Hope you've recovered from your cold. Nasty stuff that, drags you down.

  4. I'm glad you are feeling better! My cats are all indoor cats so the only "prey" they have are their mini-mice and the kids' stuffed animals.

How funny that your cats move inside as the prey become less abundant and the weather colder, although I suppose this is logical. Buddy sure is having fun with that duckie though!

  5. Buddy, that looks like a fun toy to play with. I've never seen any real, live, prey, so I'm only ever "killed" toys.

  6. I think it is great you guys have a hunter's safety class. Hunting is big here too.

What a great kitty photo. Cats love to think they have some big prey to attack! And thank you so much for hosting this week while Gattina is away. Happy Tuesday!

  8. Dat looks like a good duckie!!! I tink duck iz a good meal... espucially wit gravy. Now, if da duckie iz a stuffed one, dis may be problematic, although stuffed duckie iz not witout merit.

Pleaze tell da catz momee to get well!

  9. Nice to see your cat playing with the toy! I adore when cats are playing! I didn't participe this week to COT because I was a little tired with my teen agers at home! They are full of life and on vacation! But I will full of things to write next tuesday! A kitty arrived at home since two days like in a dream!

  10. I'm here! I'm late, but that's what I get for living at the end of the time zone.

Buddy should be very good at catching killing all the little house critters by spring.

I'm still writing in nano, but I just couldn't let another week go by with a story to tell, so I tried to squeeze one in between.

  11. great picture! our cats are masters at killing the inanimate objects in the house (today, a blue vase, lol)--not as good with the occasional live prey that gets in...hehheh!
