Today is Adoption Day for me and this beautiful (but poorly photographed) kitty! I found her using Pet Finder on my own sidebar. Her previous home was "unable to keep her" (what does that even mean?). But I can keep her and it will be forever. They called her Poppy, but she is Betsy to me. She is 2-3 years old and has lived with a yellow Lab and is not dominant (like Nell is 🙄). She looks so scared to me (and underweight), so I am going to concentrate on helping her relax and feel safe again. I love her white locket and the white I see on her paw. More photos as soon as I can!

What a delightful addition to your home!
ReplyDeleteAwww, that's fabulous, Betsy is a beauty.
ReplyDeleteThere are many reasons people cannot keep their cats. In some cases, a move due to financial duress into housing that won't accept pets, a family member develops a terrible allergy, someone in the home becomes immune compromised and cannot have pets any longer, or elderly people move into a facility and no family members can take in the animals. Those are just a few of the reasons people have given at the shelter for why they have to give up a beloved pet. It's almost never something they want to do.
Hooray! This is so exciting. We have always referred to those white lockets on cats "the white badge of nice-y." Our Ava is the sweetest cat ever, and she has one. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you AND Betsy! XO
Welcome Betsy !
