Math Isn't Hell

STOP GROANING. JUST HUSH.

Now this is actually pretty fascinating so pay attention.

e is this strange number used to calculate your mortgage or car loan or stuff.

i is the square root of -1. You might remember that you can't take a square root of a negative number because there are no two numbers that you can multiply together and get a negative number. That means we made up the number in our imagination (get it? i for imagination? it's actually i for imaginary tho but same diff).

π has something to do with circles. We don't remember what.

You know 1, right? And we all know zero. (We all know equal signs too, right? Plus signs?)

Put them all together and what do you get? The most famous equation in all the world: EULER'S IDENTITY.

It is sort of like THE unified math equation. Euler put all 5 of these numbers all in one place and got nothing! Cool, huh?

Now this is what I want you to do: click the next link below. It will open in a new window. Then come back to this window. While the music plays, I want you to get with the music and re-read the stuff up above.

Done? OK, I'm done too!

  1. This is one of the great equations of all time. It contains five of the best known mathematical constants.

Thanks for sharing, and for stopping by today.
