These tiny wild strawberries grow all over my property. See the hairy stalks (stems)? If you click on the photo you can see it large in a new window. This is the first season that I have ever seen berries on the plants. Usually the birds and woodchucks eat them all up before I see them. I wish they would save me enough for a big bunch on a big scoop of Ben & Jerry's vanilla! This berry plant was near one of my front doors, an area where the wildlife doesn't like to visit too often. No, I did not pick them. I left them for those that live outside.School is now over so the rush and stress of the end-days is over (but I am very exhausted from it). So I am now back to the Photo Hunt. I have to say, though, that visiting a couple of hundred participants every weekend did overwhelm me. How does everybody decide who to visit and not visit? I simply can't go through the whole blog roll every weekend anymore (next winter maybe, when I am again snowed in, but not in good weather). Thank you for the help!

Wow, wild strawberries in your property. I find that amazing 'coz we don't have wild strawberries here. They only grow in the cold northern areas in our country that's why strawberries are more expensive compared to other fruits. Great entry!

ReplyDeletebtw - there is no way that I visit all of the blogs on the list for the photo hunt. I would spend all weekend doing that and just do not have that kind of time. I will normally visit anyone that happens to come to my site, go to the site of the week, try to visit any new people that have joined the hunt, and just visit some of the blogs that have left comments on some of the sites that I visit. All-in-all, it is usually between 20 and 40 blogs that I visit for the hunt - some "regular" ones each week but I also try to pick out new ones that I have never been to.

1. I visit tnchick's and leave a comment there
2. then I visit some of the other commenters who have visited at much the same time
3. I visit all the new joiners listed by tnchick
4. I visit anyone who has visited me, either this week or the previous week.
It's still quite a task!

ReplyDeleteIt is hard when your blogroll is huge ... I now use Google Reader and Bloglines ... saves visiting blogs where there are no updates. My blogroll is well over 100, and it takes quite some time.

Strawberries sure are hairy. These give my son the wheezes (asthma) whenever he has one too many. But he loves them fresh no matter what.

ReplyDeleteYou're right, there's no way to visit all the photo hunters -- not and get anything else done. I visit others who post to TN Chick's Sat. post about the same time I do plus a few others whom I've come to know. I visit those who visit me. I usually visit around later Friday evening and Sat. morning. I don't get to those who post later Saturday usually -- I feel bad about that but that's about all I can do.
