John and I went to a yard sale in New Hampshire on Saturday and found this old Singer sewing machine. It needs some work and we have found sites online to replace cords and belts and stuff. If you have one of these antiques, you may want to check out these sites:
Our machine was one of 50,000 alloted on May 16, 1922 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. It is a model 66. It may have originally been a treadle machine but is no longer. It would be great to restore it to its original greatness. I grew up learning how to sew on a Model 66, but not one this colorful.

We used to have a Singer machine in our house too! I think just like this one. Loved the excerpts from the lolcat bible! Take care :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful machine. I have a small collection of old sewing machines too. This one is a beauty! Some of mine are on my webshots album and some on my blog too.

Watch out, it easily becomes an addiction.

Wow, what an amazing find! How much did you pick it up for? I'll bet it's worth a pretty penny.
ReplyDeleteVery cool pics!
Looking at some of these modern Singer sewing machines, it's pretty amazing how far technology has come in the last few decades!
Thanks for sharing!
I have one just like that, a 1915,only it is not in the original cabnet. Any idea how much it is worth?
ReplyDeleteSorry, Rosalieta. But hopefully the resources I llsted will somehow lead you to a place that could answer your question.
