While driving on my bird road, I saw this little woodchuck guy ambling across a meadow. As I stopped, he stopped. I learned that when I moved, he moved. I assume that is a survival tactic. If that which hunts you is still, you should be still so that the hunter cannot see you. But when the hunter moves? Get outta there! I would assume. Woodchucks are one of my favorite animals. I usually have a family living under the barn every spring. One year we had triplets!

Thank you so much for visiting!

He reminds me of our guinea pig in shape and striking pose.

Come over and see my Rock chuck they look a lot alike ours get really big, the one i captured was small compared to the size they get.
Since I'm a farmer, I'm not supposed to like these critters, because they cause lots of problems in the fields. However, I think they are awfully cute - shhhhhh don't tell anyone I just typed that.
Awww...he's cute!
I have always thought these animals were cute. Great photos.
How fun to see these ‘wild critters’ I’d never see near me. Thanks for sharing ;--)
Mine’s at Small Reflections today.
Hugs and blessings,
Cute furry little guy(or girl. ;)
I would not have known that was a woodchuck, so i learned something. Thanks for popping over to my blog
Woodchucks are related to the marmots we have in the mountain meadows. I thought the critters I have posted were woodchucks. I don't know where I got that mistaken idea. Theya re a kind of ground squirrel--Wyoming ground squirrel or Piute Ground Squirrel, I think.
Nice action shot!
Thanks for stopping by mine :)
Very good Andrée
You got a great photographic flagrant.
I've never heard a woodchuck, but do they have a loud, high-pitched chirp like our rockchucks in the west have?
They certainly look similar.
