Red-breasted Nuthatch

A newcomer for me this winter: the red-breasted nuthatch! It runs upside down on trees just like the white-breasted nuthatch. Photograph is poor because of the lack of a tripod. This coming weekend, depending on the weather, with the new tripod, I should be able to get great shots.

    Now I would like to see that little fellow running upside down on the tree...fascinating.

    We been having some birds in the morning on one of crab apple trees.

    Beautiful bird. We get the white-breasted one but I haven't seen any lately.
