Odd Shots: George the Butterfly Hunter

George, the lost cat that moved in with me on May 15 from the woods, loves to go out tramping my fields with me looking for butterflies. He tends to wander off but when I call him back, he quickly races to me. I'm still learning how to catch these action shots with my new Canon Rebel XSi so these are "practice shots."

I got one perfect shot of George butterfly hunting today but I'm not posting it here. It isn't an odd photo. It's perfectly gorgeous. I'm saving it for tomorrow night's Cats on Tuesday post. George is soaking wet in these photos from being in the meadows after several heavy rain showers.

George is lots of fun outside. He rolls on the flowers I try to photograph and thunders through the meadows scaring all of the butterflies away. But he is all love, companionship and happiness. That more than makes up for the ruined shots. Above, George was running behind the well just as the camera snapped.

So if you are having a lousy day, come up and take a walk in the meadows and woods with George. I promise that you will return home with a lightened heart.

  1. You got some great action shots. I like the levitation shot if only that fence (?) hadn't blocked his head. Been loving your butterfly and moth shots lately, too.

  4. George is feeling very much at home. Good for him. Tell him to be kind to butterflies, though.
