Roofing the Barton House

We drove to Barton on the first Friday of November so that John could roof the house there. Amelia arranged for friends of hers to help John. We had the whole weekend. John got the scaffolding up on Friday and began early Saturday morning. It snowed a bit on Friday and on Saturday the high never rose past 32°F (0°C). There was some help on Saturday as can be seen in the slide show. On Sunday there was less help (but it did warm up into the forties) so that John needed four days to finish the roof.

I spent the time buying groceries, watching the chickens, cooking, watching TV and caring for Sadie the Runaway Dog (more on her and the chickens later). I have begged Matt to send me photos of the completed roof. I never got a shot because I had to return to New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon to care for the cats here. So far, two months later, no photos of the beautiful completed roof! Come on, Matt!

  1. All I can say is, I'm glad I wasn't up on that roof...I don't like heights.

Still it looks as if a pretty good job was done on it. I hope you get the photo of the finished roof.

Happy New Year to you both.
