Judging NEK History Day

I was asked by the Old Stone House Museum to be one of the many judges at the Northeast Kingdom History Fair. Students in grades 6 through 12 exhibited their historical inquiry projects in the big arena at IROC in Derby on March 26. The fair was open to the public from noon on, and prizes were awarded around 7:30 p.m. I had never been to a history fair and found it very interesting. Most of the exhibits were great so it was difficult to choose. I was a seventh grade judge with four other teachers and librarians. We choose as our first prize a display about Robert Frost and how he changed our perceptions of poetry. The list of winning exhibits can be found here on the museum's blog.

The photo above is of the graves of Alexander Twilight (1795-1857) and his wife Mercy (d. 1878) in the Brownington Cemetery.
