ABC News: Icky Algae Alarms New England Fishermen
When I went to Dixville Notch, I stopped near Moose Bog at the Silvio O. Conte National Fish & Wildlife Refuge outside Island Pond. On the door of the welcome center was a sign saying beware of Rock Snot algae. I thought I had taken a photo of the sign, but I guess not. Rock Snot sounds funny and looks awful. It's a real problem. Now I know what it looks like because of this article.
