The graphic shown is from the shirt of one of my male fifth grade students on Friday morning. This favorite shirt had been bleached, with dark clothes, by his big sister. It now has a pink hue. The principal told this student the shirt was inappropriate for school ("Why?" the student wailed. "Because it's pink?"), so the student had to wear it inside out all day. The shirt was considered appropriate by staff and students.

Hmmm... lol, that shirt doesn't hurt my feelings but the best I can say is may the best team win...
ReplyDeleteGo Rockies!!! ;-)
Oh, poor boy. There's nothing wrong with his shirt I guess.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit. happy weekend! :)
That's so odd that the Principal made him turn the shirt inside out. Good shot and post for the pink theme.
ReplyDeleteWell, I am not a Yankee fan so I don't see the problem;)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely worth a giggle. :) They make them turn them inside out around here as well--in fact I think that now the rule is no logo's or slogans unless it is a sport's team only or brand.
ReplyDeleteWe don't do sports around here though I guess if we did it would be either Boston (we used to live there) or the Pirates (where we live now. :))
Ohhh a Boston tee. Hehehe
ReplyDeleteI know a few people who would take offense.. Me, not so much.
ReplyDeleteWell, now! That was a surprise! We are big Yankee fans here, so I do understand the rivalry. We also live in SW Florida where Boston spring trains so most of the people we know are big Boston fans.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comments over at Pollywog Creek, Andree, and please forgive me for taking so long to get over here from last weekend when I was out of town.
Hmmm, they obviously didn't like what the logo represented...oops! I thought it was rather funny. However, I guess the reaction would be the same at school here, too.
ReplyDeleteInteresting... it's amazing how some things get colored pink in the wash.
ReplyDeleteMaybe its because its looks discriminatory or something. I'm just guessing. But what an experience, wearing your shirt like that. Would have made his face turn pink or even bright red.
ReplyDeletehave a great weekend, Andree :)
Heh heh heh..."cause it's pink?" That's priceless!
ReplyDeleteGood one Andree'.
Thanks for stopping by my pink place today.
I like it!!!We been watching the serious.
ReplyDeleteA bit ridiculous really. I'm sure the shirt was no worse than many others.
ReplyDeleteGood take on the theme.
Great choice you got here for this week's theme!... Thanks for the comment!... Have a nice weekend!...c",)
ReplyDeletehehehehe thats neat and funny!
ReplyDeletePoor boy! I don't see anything wrong with the colour. Is the principal thinking too much?
ReplyDeleteOh wow... hahaha... Andree, what a great and fun post!
ReplyDeleteI have something for you, Andree.. besides my Pink entry, please check also my friendship post
Trinity from Rooms of My Heart

Poor little boy!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a sports fan so it wouldn't matter to me either. :)
ReplyDeleteHmm no surprise that he got to ear it iinside out! I understand that you have Rudy Giuliani rooting for you in the world series. Will the Red Sox send a wreath to his funeral!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat take on this week's theme. Happy weekend
What a great story! But I thought making him turn his shirt inside out was a bit excessive!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend

Something I've known happen many a time. Boys don't like pink underwear either (which happened to my grandson). Happy Photohunting :o)
ReplyDeleteEverything is better in pink!
ReplyDelete:) He seriously thought being pink was the problem? Lovely story.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like that pink is right this year! Go Sox!
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard being a Yankee fan. I'm not, but a couple of years ago I was in Boston during the world series. The college boys who were obviously from Long Island were very nervous. Funny picture!
ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!! GO SOX!!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Well, I can definitely see why that shirt could be viewed as inappropriate. (And not because it's pink! *grin*) But then both of my humans went to Catholic schools, where a lot of shirts were considered inappropriate, and that shirt would have been one of them!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a cool shirt.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit!
That is funny. "Why, because its pink!?" So funny. Go Sox!
ReplyDeletePoor kid. Boys have as much right to wear pink as girls. Great pic and interesting story for this week's theme. Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by!! You can call me FLO if you want. I have not problem. But I answer better to Sandy!! Smile!!
ReplyDeleteThis was harder for me this week than I thought..Not much pink around here..Sandy
That poor boy..
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend :)
Principals who have no humor shouldn't be principals. I have seen worse T-shirts in a school. This one is even cute !
ReplyDeleteOops!! My husband has a pink T-shirt that is supposed to be white as well. Maybe everyone does...........
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
See ya next time!
Pam
They would do the same at my daughter's school- they've really been enforcing the dress code this year. I'm glad they have been- it was getting really out of hand. But, I bet that boy was not "tickled pink" over the decision.
ReplyDeleteI hate it when I turn my boys' shirts pink! Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeletebecause it is pink????
ReplyDeleteLOL too funny!
this is cute
ReplyDeleteI guess we know who he's rooting for.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmm... lemmme guess... you're a Red Sox fan? ;b
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, your side panel has a logo for "I'm going pink for October."
ReplyDeletehe really thought it was because it turned pink? LOL
ReplyDeletethanks for the visit! :)
My Pink Post
LOL very original entry! Love it!
ReplyDeletehappy weekend!
Never mind pink - it's the yellow he didn't like! Fun!
ReplyDeletethanks for the compliment!
ReplyDeletewonderful find for today’s theme.
Fun shirt but not for school i guess, GO TX Rangers!!!
ReplyDeleteWow great choice of photo! Love Yankees :) but too bad they lose!
ReplyDeletethanks for your visit on my first entry!
ReplyDeletenice hunt you’ve got
Maybe it was inappropriate because of the butt crack showing on the ball player and not because it was pink.
ReplyDeleteMama Bear
*LOL* - well, I´m from Germany, so this shirt doesn´t hurt my feelings *G*
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my pink slippers earlier today. Have a great weekend!
Oooo I have done my share of bleaching accidents!
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the pink theme!
And about the aftershock...two hundred years later? never heard of that. AND we are pro in EQ's here in Southern CAl! ;-)
i'm not a big fan of baseball, or sports for that matter. but that one's funny. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dragonheart...so people just don't get it.
ReplyDeleteFunny shirt (though I had to refer the Wikipedia article that you linked to in your previous post to get the joke) & a great selection for PH.
ReplyDeleteI think it is inappropriate for a 5th grader. Would've been okay in high school or college. But then I come from a place where all school kids wear uniforms. Discipline and decorum were the watchwords in the schools that I went to. Academics was secondary.
I would have worn it if it showed the Indian cricket team sprinkling/showering the Aussies :D
Sounded like a good reason to tell him to turn it inside out,.. don't think he would have understood that it may have offended someone. That was too funny. Thanks for visiting my post and have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been on much this past week either, puter went down, lost all my photos, and sick with a cold. I am glad this week is over. Have a good one.
Yeah, 'cause it's pink!
ReplyDeleteThanks alot big sis.
neat choice for the week and I enjoyed the post above it
ReplyDeleteFunny. You really do have to watch what you wear to school, though. Kids get in a lot of trouble for what they see as innocent self-expression.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...I'll go out on a limb and guess that you are a Sox fan???? We're cheering for them too!
ReplyDeleteIt's not appropriate because it's pink??? Weird principal I think...
ReplyDeleteNice one, the boston red sox and the yankees are hot rivals, although I am not that into MLB.
