I always see with pleasure that more and more wind turbines are growing everywhere ! I show today an Egyptian dancer a whirling Dervish. I did 2 little videos it is just unbelievable how he whirls around until his skirts are flying over his head without getting dizzy !
Nice big wind chimez..oh wait a minute...doze iz not wind chimez! Dey iz big GIANT whirligigz! We hopes you comez to da tur-key day party at our house. You can send all da cats at your place over here fur da day & we will makes a BIG GIANT messee!!!
Dearest meeyauw! I hope you do not think me too ungracious of a kitty for taking such a long time to return your visit. You can only imagine how happy I was to see you come cheer me on while I was so very sick. Mommy was heartbroken and thought for sure I would not regain any of my spirit and was prepared for the worst. But I was worth a small miracle. With your purrrayers and some good medicine, I have regained my strength day by day. Mommy would not have made it through her worries about me without your comfort. Each night we keep you in our prayers and wish you endless Blessings this Thanksgiving season. Love and hugs from our house to yours, Miss Peach and the mommy who thinks your photography is simply stunning...specially the mourning cloak butterfly. It has always been her favorite:)
Wind power cpuld provide 20-25% of our electricity needs here in teh UK. Add wave power and we could generate a large proportion from renewable sources. It has to be given greater investment.
Bravo! My Poor Hubby wants to build our own windmill, but personally I don't think we get enough wind in our suburb to make it worth it... I'm hoping to save up for solar panels!
Well, those only work in certain areas and don't produce that much. All the windmills in the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs area in CA) there's tons of them, and all that electricity ends up going to Los Angeles, which makes up about 3% of their total electricity usage.
Plus they're a danger to birds. However, they are also an odd tourist attraction. 8-)
Huge wind turbines are creeping closer and closer to our house- in Bliss they now have over 40 of them up and will have 67 before phase one of that project is done. I think they are great! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Pros and cons to everything - these aren't very pretty, and some of them are noisy too, but anything that can give us a shot at reducing fossil fuel combustion is fine by me. I wish we'd have more of them along our (windy) coastline!
You sound like you did not WANT them...am I right? I think that they would be great to help with energy if we run out of it. I know they have tons of them in Nevada and California. Even have started putting some in our old state..Illinois. Hope you have a good Thanksgiving. Sandy
Cool! We don't get to see this in our Singapore schools. It would be a source of energy saver.
ReplyDeletewow, I'm impressed--what a great thing to be doing!
ReplyDeleteI just got my electric bill....I want one of these! Now...
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty cool--not so many wind turbines around here--I assume it is because it is too hilly and the wind is pretty unpredictable.
ReplyDeleteIt is great to see the wind turbine. I think every school, especially technical schools should be installing them.
ReplyDeleteAs a side note, I'm sorry if the technicolor turkeys made you sad. I'm still going to enjoy mine on Thursday.
YAY! I love wind turbine! But I have never seen a residential one! It is nice to see that some people care about environment! :-))
ReplyDeleteGreat photo!
Happy WW and thanks for visiting! :-)
Happy Thanksgiving too! :-)
Thought-provoking photo.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
Good way to start a conversation. Happy WW

Great WW Photo! It would be nice to see alternatives to oil...
ReplyDeleteMy WW post featured actor killed off this week on The Unit television show. Don't tell anyone, but, I cried at the end (sigh).

ReplyDeleteVery clever initiative!
ReplyDeletehappy WW!
I wish I knew how to set something up like that at home!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that this is at a school. At least maybe the next generation will learn to be sensible about energy!

Great shot of the wind turbine! Wind is a great source of energy in places that receive enough wind. :)

I love the look of turbines and it makes so much sense as an alternative energy source. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteHappy WW
This reminds me of seeing the windfarm in Wyoming. :)

YAY!!!! That's so cool!
ReplyDeleteWind energy is starting to be talked about quite a bit here too. Great photo! Happy WW and have a wonderful Thanksgiving! :)
ReplyDeleteThat is an excellent way to go too. Very well done. Have a great WW. :)

ReplyDeleteCool photo! I also like your photo blog. I'm always excited to find a fun photo blog. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHello, I hope you have a great day for Tomorrow. Happy Thanks Giving.
ReplyDeleteCool. I actually think of windmills are quite photogenic. I have taken many photos of the big wind farms in the desert east of LA.
