New Hampshire Geese

This Canada goose pair have been devouring John's grass. It's amazing how much they eat. You notice how they stand back to back? It's for defense. They can cover nearly 360° so that predators are quickly seen. They don't seem to have a nest because they spend all their time eating and not brooding eggs. Be sure to read the book below if you are interested in the natural history of Canada geese. It was invaluable for my observations.

  1. Oh, Andree...do you know how I read your post title? New Hampshire Cheese! I thought, oh goody, I love cheese and here's a new one. You wouldn't believe it, would you? I think it's time I went to bed.

The geese are beautiful and that's an interesting fact about them being back to back. Makes a lot of sense, too.

  2. Hi Andree. Long time, no see. :) The book didn't show up on my screen. What's it called?

Do these guys hang around all year, or have they moved north?
